🚀 UpMatrix Onboarding Guide: Start Sending Utility Messages on WhatsApp

Set up automated order updates, payment reminders, and support messages using WhatsApp — with zero code.

✅ Step 1: Sign Up and Connect Your WhatsApp Number

  1. Go to app.upmatrix.in/register
  2. Create your account
  3. Follow the wizard to connect your WhatsApp Business number via:
    • Cloud API (recommended)
    • 360Dialog or WATI (optional)

Tip: Make sure your number is verified and approved for business use.

🛠 Step 2: Create Your First Utility Message Template

  1. Navigate to Templates in the dashboard
  2. Click Create New Template
  3. Choose Category: Utility
  4. Add your message (e.g. “Hi {{1}}, your order #{{2}} has been confirmed.”)
  5. Submit for WhatsApp approval

Templates must be:

  • Expected (relevant to a recent action)
  • Timely
  • Personalized

🔁 Step 3: Build an Automation Flow

  1. Go to Workflows
  2. Click New Flow
  3. Use drag-and-drop to set your logic:

Example:

  • Trigger: “New order placed”
  • Action: “Send message template: Order Confirmation”
  • Delay: “Wait 24h”
  • Action: “Send payment reminder”

You can also:

  • Tag leads
  • Trigger team notifications
  • Set fallbacks if user doesn’t respond

💬 Step 4: Collect Opt-Ins (Mandatory)

Use any of these built-in methods:

  • WhatsApp QR code (storefronts, receipts, packaging)
  • Embedded website button: “Message us on WhatsApp”
  • In-thread opt-in (“Tap to get updates on your orders”)

Only opted-in users can receive utility messages.

📊 Step 5: Test and Go Live

  1. Test with your own number first
  2. Preview what the message looks like
  3. Once approved → Activate the workflow
  4. Start getting replies in your team inbox

💡 Best Practices

  • Don’t spam or over-message
  • Use personalization (e.g., name, order #)
  • Include clear next steps (button, link, reply)
  • Respect opt-outs immediately
  • Track quality rating in the “Settings” tab
